    Wireless Measurement Module

    Developed a new wireless measurement module for voltage, temperature, and heat flux. Its compact, wireless design enabled long-duration measurements, multi-point setups, and measurements on rotating machinery.

    Achievements
    • Added new functions such as heat flux measurement, multi-channel measurement, and high-temperature resistance (up to 105 °C)
    • Achieved the same measurement duration as the previous model through power-saving design, despite added functionality
    • Generated business leads through exhibition participation

    PoC for an AI‑Based Tapping Inspection System on Historic Roof Tiles

    As part of the large-scale restoration of the Shitenno-ji Temple Rokujido Hall, conducted tapping measurements on roof tiles and tested an AI‑based tapping inspection system for tile assessment, in collaboration with Obayashi Corporation and JUST Co., Ltd.

    Responsibilities
    • Planned and managed tapping measurement experiments
    • Preprocessed and analyzed tapping data

    Achievements
    • Contributed to the digital transformation (DX) of heritage architecture designated as National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties
    • Built a dataset of tapping data for historical roof tiles

    Research on Embedded AI

    Investigated AI models and feasible processing methods for deployment on microcontrollers to be integrated into new products.

    Responsibilities
    • Designed AI models and converted them for embedded implementation
    • Researched algorithms capable of running with limited resources

    Development of an AI‑Based Tapping Inspection System for Exterior Tiles

    Advanced the project from PoC to the development stage. Created an iPhone demo app for tile delamination estimation to enable easier on-site inspections. Conducted validation experiments for algorithm evaluation and presented results at academic conferences and exhibitions in collaboration with Tokyo City University.

    Responsibilities
    • Developed an iPhone demo app for tile delamination estimation using Swift
    • Planned, executed, and analyzed joint experiments
    • Authored and delivered a paper at the 2024 Architectural Institute of Japan Annual Meeting
    • Served as a technical presenter at various exhibitions

    Achievements
    • Developed the company’s first iPhone app and established the development environment
    • Received the company’s Challenge Award for contributions to this initiative

    USB Type-C Microphone

    Developed a calibrated USB Type-C microphone enabling high-precision measurements on smartphones with ease.

    Responsibilities
    • Designed analog filters
    • Measured and evaluated acoustic characteristics

    Achievements
    • Designed filters to cancel the frequency response of the sensor, achieving a flat response across the audible range
    • Built a Python–LTspice tool to design optimal filters using in-stock components
    • Conducted acoustic measurements in an anechoic chamber to ensure performance as a measurement instrument

    PoC for an AI‑Based Tapping Inspection System for Exterior Tiles

    Conducted a proof of concept for an AI system that estimates tile delamination based on tapping sound analysis. Activities included experiments from sound measurement to algorithm development, as well as academic publications and patent filings, in collaboration with JUST Co., Ltd.

    Responsibilities
    • Planned, executed, and analyzed experiments
    • Developed tile delamination estimation algorithms
    • Created a demo application for tile delamination estimation using PyQt

    Achievements
    • Achieved 99% accuracy in delamination estimation during the PoC
    • Filed and later obtained a patent for tapping inspection devices, methods, and programs
    • Developed a demo app enabling simple on-site measurement and estimation
    • Presented the initiative at the internal technical conference and received the Best Presentation Award

    Introduced the company’s initiatives and transferred technical knowledge to employees and students.

    “Effects of visual stimuli on the sound images spatially split by interaural differences”

    Clarified the effects of visual stimuli presented via a head-mounted display on the perceptual segregation of sound images in headphone listening, focusing on auditory cues such as interaural time difference, interaural level difference, and spectral cues. Presented findings at the Acoustical Society of Japan and related conferences.
